The Institute of Social Work (ISW) invites job applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant posts.
Associate Professor - 1 POST
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To review methodology content and quality of academic programmes for the purpose of improving quality of graduates; To teach up to NTA level 1 0;
• To carry out special instructional activities requiring high Degree of competence and technological expertise and experience;
• To participate in planning, development, controlling and running of the curriculum;
• To design and oversee construction of research equipment;
• To assist students in building up their practical and research projects;
• To plan and design training exercises for students;
• To provide on the job training to junior staff;
• To supervise and guide post-graduate students and other members of staff;
• To carry-out and supervise research activities;
• To provide advisory services to the public;
• To prepare and publish technical papers and books in relevant fields;
• To take lead in Research and Consultancy and Community Service jobs;
• To mentor Junior Academic Staff in writing and publishing skills.
• To undertake academic administration duties, and
• To perform any other duties as assigned by higher authority.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of similar position in related or allied institution with PhD Degree in SocialWork, Human Resource Management, Labour Laws/Laws or related field in Social Sciences, eligible for registration as technical teacher.
Or
Holder of Doctorate (PhD) Degree in Social Work, Human Resource Management, Labour L,aws/Laws or related field in Social Sciences, eligible to be registered as a technical teacher with at least 10 years experience in research and must have published at least ten peer reviewed papers;
Or
Holder of Doctorate (PhD) Degree in Social Work, Human Resource management, labour laws/ laws or related field in social sciences, eligible to be registered as technical teachers with experience research at least twenty years and must have published at least twenty consultancy research reports of the academic and professional appreciable depth in the relevant field
