Between $84,000 and $100,000 per annum, plus annual performance bonus

Rift Valley Energy is seeking a Project Development Manager to work alongside the Company’s founders to execute an ambitious regional growth agenda. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a trailblazing business in developing small-scale renewable energy projects in South-Eastern Africa.
Core activities will include:
- Driving all aspects of the development process for a number of early stage projects, including-
- Site evaluation and pre-feasibility studies
- Technical feasibility studies
- Production of outline and detailed designs and project plans
- Permit acquisitions
- Tender preparation and administration
- Participate in the commercial negotiations surrounding each project
- Overseeing ongoing development projects, and providing direction to the respective project managers tasked with on-site execution
- Reporting tasks relating to all of the above
- Travelling to and operating in remote African environments on a regular basis
Required candidate profile:
- Broad experience base in engineering management gained over a minimum period of 10 years post qualification, including exposure to Mechanical, Civil and Electrical engineering disciplines, gained in hydro or wind projects (preferred) or alternatively a range of heavy industrial environments
- Excellent project management skills with a proven track-record
- Financially literate with previous exposure to project financing
- Fluent in English, knowledge of both Kiswahili and Portuguese would be an advantage
- A minimum qualification of a BSc degree in Engineering is required, which needs to be in either a Civil, Mechanical or Hydro Engineering field.
