4. Manager, Training And Development
Nature and Scope
The successful candidate will work in the Human Resources Directorate and report to the Director, Human Resources and Administration. She/he will be responsible in all matters related to employees' capacity building including training and development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preparation of bank's training strategy, training policy plan and budget, and ensure its effective implementation.
2. Conduct skills gap analysis and analyze needs to develop new training programs; modify
And or improve existing programs to suit bank's skills gap.
3. Implement and monitor bank's courses and training programs.
4. Conduct and/or arrange for ongoing technical training including Personal Development classes/courses, Certification courses and the Young Professional program.
5. Develop testing, training evaluation processes and procedures; conduct evaluations and provide feedback and reports during in house training.
6. Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs and provide recommendations for improvement.
7. Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires.
8. Coordinate creation of brochures, training materials, manuals, multimedia visual aids and other educational materials.
9. Work with training providers to develop suitable content for the courses.
10. Coordinate all training, workshops, seminars and conference both in-house and those organized by Consultants outside the bank by providing logistical support, delivery, evaluation and cost management.
11. Conduct surveys to identify training needs based on projected business changes and other factors.
12. Implement the performance management program and coordinate its implementation.
13. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.
Qualification, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
1. Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration or related field
Obtained from a recognized institution.
2. Possession of a Masters' Degree will be ad added advantage.
3. Minimum of eight (8) years working experience, of which four (4) must be in a senior position in related function at a reputable institution. '
4. A good knowledge of labor laws and industrial relations matters.
5. Excellent written and communication skills with ability to communicate both in English and Kiswahili.
6. Excellent and well developed interpersonal skills
7. Must be a team player and very self-motivated.
8. Must be computer literate.
Preferred
1. Ability to devise solutions to capacity building problems within the bank.
2. Strong negotiation skills.
3. Ability to motivate and engage others.
4. Ability to maintain high level of performance standards and discipline among staff.
5. Possession of the train of trainers' skills and ability to facilitate training.
6. Personally credible with strong organisational skills.
