The Small Industries Development Organization is a parastatal Organization established by an act of Parliament No. 28 in 1973 to plan, Co-ordinate, Promote and Offer a variety of services to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). As part of implementing its Organizational Structure it is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified, competent, committed and experienced Tanzanians to immediately fill the following vacancies:
1.0 BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER GRADE II-
1 POST
Reporting to the Regional Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• University Degree in Business Management, Economics, Commerce, Accounting or Related Reid.
• Awareness of issues concerning Micro and Small enterprises sector.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Business experience in micro and small business development activities is an added advantage.
• Training or teaching experience and knowledge of and experience in moderation and facilitation techniques are added advantages.
• Computer knowledge in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Power Point and Publisher, etc.) is necessary.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Officer is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the Business Development activities of the Organization within the regional.
• Identification of business opportunities and assessment of market potential.
• Promotion of the Regional Office business training and advisory services.
• Identify and select participants for micro and small enterprises training programmes.
• Provide clients with business opportunity guidance.
• Organize and conduct training programmes.
• Assist trainees in preparing their business plan.
• Provide business advice on-site and the Office.
• Monitor effectiveness of services and assess their impact.
• Assist in developing relationships with the local business community and with institutions which provide similar services.
• Perform any other activities as may be assigned by Supervisor.
REMUNERATION
According to SIDO Salary Scale SDGSS 1/1.

(vi) Certificates from foreign examination bodies for ordinary or advanced level education should be certified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA). .
(vii) Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).
