MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER (1 POSITION-BASED IN DAR ES SALAAM)

Amref Health Africa is an independent, non-profit, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) whose mission is “to improve the health of people by partnering with and empowering communities and strengthening health systems”. Amref Health Africa has over 500 employees throughout Africa with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.  Amref Health Africa has offices in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, South Sudan and Senegal and a number of offices in Europe and North America for fundraising.

Amref Health Africa-Tanzania is largely supported by Multilateral, Bilateral and National donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDS/TB/Malaria, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Water and sanitation, capacity building and clinical outreach.

Amref Health Africa Tanzania has received funding from Save the Children International to implement Global Fund (GFATM) supported HIV/TB interventions in Simiyu, Shinyanga, Kagera and Singida regions.

Amref Health Africa has the following vacancies at the country office and field based positions in Shinyanga/Simiyu, Singida and Kagera.

1. MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER (1 POSITION-BASED IN DAR ES SALAAM)
REPORTS TO: PROGRAM MANAGER- GLOBAL FUND
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
• Develop, implement and coordinate an effective and efficient project monitoring and evaluation systems
• Develop and refine performance indicators to ensure that they are objective, practical, specific and cost effective
• Lead and support the implementation project performance indicators for results/impact measurement
• Continuously reviews existing monitoring tools and adapt them accordingly
• Develop and maintain appropriate project databases
• Coordinate/assist documentation of best practices and success stories across Amref Health Africa
• Compile monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annual project reports
• Coordinate operational research
• Participate in knowledge management in Amref Health Africa
• Any other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications and Experience
• Postgraduate degree in Public Health and health system research, monitoring and evaluation and or biostatistics
• At least five years hands on experience in M&E in an NGO environment
• Proven abilities in conducting operational research and impact assessment
• Analytical, presentation and communication skills
• Sound IT knowledge, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and statistical packages
• Experience in HIV/AIDS/TB field will be an added advantage
