Policy Analyst
We are seeking dynamic persons with sound experience in Policy Analysis, Research and Programme Management who would appreciate the opportunity to take their career to the next level.
BASIC FUNCTION
Undertaking evidence-based policy development work.
MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Undertake high quality research and analysis particularly in the area of sustainable development;
Draft and co-ordinate the preparation of substantive reports on policy work carried out at UONGOZI Institute; Draft working papers; policy briefs, recommendations; and briefing notes;
Provide comments on analytical reports and policy documents;
Develop innovative and effective strategies and instruments to disseminate the findings and to convey the main messages from policy work to different audiences at workshops and conferences.
Contribute to the establishment of synergies between
UONGOZI Institute and related international organisations in particular those with a focus on
leadership for sustainable development;
Participate in multi-disciplinary policy related projects and activities;
Represent UONGOZI Institute at key international fora.

QUALIFICATION
Advanced' University Degree in any socio-economic field
5 yrs experience in policy work;
Experience, particularly at the international level, working with diverse stakeholders (governments,' NGOs, industry, trade unions); Experience in co-ordinating multi-stakeholder processes;
Demonstrated analytical skills, as well as the ability to organise and to summarise complex material, encompassing empirical data.

PROGRAMME COORDINATOR
UONGOZI Institute seeks to hire a PROGRAMME COORDINATOR with excellent protect management skills to coordinate NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT Programme.
The Institute is implementing a programme to support natural resource management in Tanzania. The overall goal is to ensure that "extractives" generate the best possible returns for the country and build the foundations for sustainable socio-economic transformation, as well as broad-based growth and development. The objectives of the programme include:
Providing a platform for dialogue, bringing together the' different players involved in the extractive economy so as to build consensus and a shared vision on extractives;
Providing advice generated through well founded analysis to relevant MDAs;
Continuously monitoring developments in the sector;
Facilitating wider consultations through an inclusive and participatory process;
Facilitating communication/flow of information to meet the needs of the different actors and the citizens at large; and
Facilitating capacity building on the management of extractives to senior leaders in Government.

Management: day-to-day administration of the affairs of the programme, including communication and liaison amongst all stakeholders;

Budgeting: financial planning for the functioning of the programme;
Monitoring: checking on the progress of research and implementation of other programme components;
Reporting: preparation of various reports;
Publications: coordination of programme publications (including research reports);
Dissemination of publications and other outputs;
Advertising of events of the programme;
Website development to support dissemination and advertising efforts; and
Coordination of on-demand policy work.
