Job Description
The Regional Team Leader will be responsible for coordinating and line managing the Regional team and support key stakeholders to improve learning and performance of pupils at all levels of primary education
Ensuring effective information flows between the Region and Headquarters
Developing and maintaining a clear vision of the best focus and timing of EQUIP-T assistance
Engaging with government at Regional and Council levels and ensure that all the components of EQUIP-T are in line with Regional and National government priorities
Generating synergies between EQUIP-T and other relevant technical assistance programmes in Tanzania to coordinate efforts
and approaches, and maximise impact
Monitoring the effectiveness of the programme interventions within the Region
In consultation with the Region and EQUIP-T senior management, periodically review and agree objectives and targets for activities
Identify areas for technical assistance and draw up and report on rolling quarterly work plans and monthly consultancy schedules for the Region
Agreeing work plans and technical assistance input schedules with the Regional counterparts and EQUIP-T management
Managing EQUIP-T-funded activities in the Region as per agreed work plans
Managing the EQUIP-T office and personnel in the Region, and oversee office management and financial systems in line with EQUIP-T procedures
Providing oversight, briefing and debriefing of consultants working in the Region and organisational support to facilitate their work
Convening and report on regular EQUIP-T Regional team meetings
Quality assure consultants’ reports to ensure that they fully address relevant issues
Assisting the EQUIP-T programme senior managers in compiling quarterly and annual reports

Candidate Specification
Knowledge, essential competencies, skills and qualifications:
Degree in educational planning, teacher education or relevant field
Experience in project management, and of leading teams
Communications and inter-personal skills and gender sensitivity, for effective management
Experience working with government bodies at a Regional or national level
