African Barrick Gold (ABG) is seeking to recruit a self motivated, hardworking and qualified Communications Specialist - Brand to work with our Communications and Public Relations Team.
The primary objective of this position is to enhance the company's brand presence in turn influence stakeholders perception. The Communications Specialist - Brand is responsible for the implementation of the company's brand strategy, including ensure brand presence at all mine operations and host communities, and enhance brand presence through stakeholder activities/events/sponsorships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-•
Implement the company's brand strategy, including coordination, supervision, and implementation and management company sponsorships.
Ensure the ABG and ABG MF branding is aligned across all operations and host communities. Ensure consistency in brand communication across touch points/ channels.
Monitor production of public awareness/advocacy materials and messages
Ensure continues brand presence on electronic media (radio, and TV) through program sponsorship and infomercials.
Analyze brands health through perception surveys.
Identify and implement opportunities to uplift brand presence. Comply with ABG's Communication polices.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:-
Education Requirements:
University or diploma qualifications Bachelor of Arts in marketing or communications. Knowledge in Microsoft computer programs i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Experience Requirements:
Strong understanding of all aspects of marketing, good communication and people skills, understanding of local markets.
3 years experience in development media advocacy. Experience in development communications. Experience in production of TV and radio campaigns.
Ethical Attributes:
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong in both English and Kiswahili verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Very strong Information Technology skills.

Legal Counsel: Level II - (1 POST)
African Barrick Gold (ABG) seeks to appoint a dedicated, self motivated and highly organized Legal Counsel _ Level II to join the Legal Team.
Legal Counsel- Level II: The Candidate will be responsible for managing all legal affairs of the company at the site and for the provision of timely, effective and high quality, professional advice and support to the business relative to legal matters and other related legal issues. Main issues here range from HR to environmental; land acquisition to community relations; contracts to litigation etc;
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
1. Regulatory
In liaison with the Dar Office attend regulatory and compliance matters occurring at the site;
Monitor legal developments (new enactments) and;
• Provide advice on relevant standards and procedures;
Provide oversight and support on permitting and related matters;
• Monitoring and ensuring validity and renewal of all licenses.
• In liaison with the Compliance Counsel, ensure timely availability and submission of statutory/
government reports to the various regulatory authorities.
Prepare updates and frequently advise the site management on the legal compliance matters. Participate in meetings/committees with stakeholders in various matters pertaining to mining operations _ MEM, OSHA, NEMC etc.
2. Litigation
• Provide active and effective oversight of all litigation matters pertaining to the site, including maintenance
of case reporting system/records;
Effective engagement with the mine management in decisions relating to litigation;
• In consultation with the Country Counsel or the General Counsel, liaise with external counsel representing
the company; Where outsourcing is not required to attend cases in the various courts.
3. Environmental
To analyze and identify legal risks and implications pertaining to environmental issues so as to avoid risks and negative impacts related to various aspects of the Company's mining business.
4. Employment & Labour Relations
Provide training on ethics and other labour compliance matters to business teams at the site;
Advise the HR team and the management in general on legal aspects pertaining to various labour
related issues.
5. Contracts & Company Policies/Procedures
To draft, review, negotiate and administer all minor or site based contracts and other legal and transactional documentations signed or due to be signed by the Site General Manager.
To monitor compliance with the terms and conditions of various contracts entered to by the Company or its subsidiaries and at the same time to ensure that all rights, privileges and entitlements of the Company under the said ,contracts and the laws of the country are protected, enjoyed by the Company and not infringed upon.
• Timely provide legal advice to the Mine Management on all contractual related matters;
• Advise the management on policy and procedure implementation;

• To monitor the legal and regulatory framework of company management/secretarial issues as it develops from time to time and take appropriate measures to advise the management accordingly; and, in this regard, to assist in the provision of key legal and regulatory requirements that need close monitoring, action and assigned responsibility to responsible officers.
• To draft, review, negotiate and administer all contracts and other legal and transactional documentations signed or due to be signed by the Company or its subsidiaries.
