Tanzania Library Services Board (TLSB) is a national institution under the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training established by the 1963 Act of parliament, and later on repealed by the 1975 Act. The Act requires the Board to promote, establish, equip and develop libraries, information centers, and documentation centers in Tanzania. TLSB has the role of ensuring that it provides information to all groups of people including children, youth, adults, and disadvantaged groups. In carrying out the above responsibilities TLSB acquires, organizes and distributes books, non-book materials and other forms of information materials to individuals, schools, Institutions and public in general.
6.1 SENIOR TUTOR II 1 POST (RE-ADVERTISED)
6.1.1 DUTY STATION: SLADS BAGAMOYO
6.1.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Guide and supervises students in building up their practical and research projects;
• Prepare learning resources and designs training exercises for students;
• Conduct consultancy and community services;
• Develop and reviews existing curriculum;
• Undertake individual research and participates in scientific/ academic congregations;
• Prepare teaching manuals, simulations and case studies for training;
• Supervise and guides post-graduate students; and
• Coach junior teaching staff.
6.1.3 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors Degree in Librarianship and Information Science or equivalent qualifications from a recognized University/institution.
• Five (5) years working experience.
Must have written two substantive professional paper.
6.1.4 TENURE:

6.2 CHIEF LIBRARIAN – 1 POST 6.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the planning, administrative and budgetary functions of library and information services;
• Design specific library development plans by following set policies and standards;
• Carry out research and evaluations on specific library and information work programmes;
• Coordinate specific library activities eg. Reference services, indexing;
• Initiate library and information innovations;
• Study user needs and ensure a high standard of library services delivery in order to enhance readership habits/culture;
• Provide out-reach services;
• Facilitate in identify training needs
• Establish and implement library and information policies and procedures; and
• Analyze and evaluate library and information services, technology and media services, resources and activities.
6.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Masters Degree in Librarianship and Information Science or equivalent qualifications from a recognized University/institution.
• Must have written two professional papers.
• Eleven years work experience in related field.
• Phd in Librarianship is an added advantage and must have written four professional papers, two of which are published in recognized journal/book.
6.2.3 REMUNERATION

6.3 PRINCIPAL LIBRARY ASSISTANT – 1 POST
6.3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise maintenance of public and staff catalogues;
• Supervise maintenance of records of library materials loaned to users;
• Supervise shelving of books, periodicals, journals and other library materials;
• Participate in processing newly acquired materials;
• Assist in identifying library materials to be ordered.
6.3.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Secondary Education Certificate with Diploma in Library Services or its equivalent
At least (9) nine years of working experience in related field.
6.3.3 REMUNERATION
• Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institution’s salary scale

6.4 ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT II – 1 POST
6.4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receive and pay cash;
• Write cash books;
• Post and balance ledgers;
• Maintain vote books;
• Prepares payment vouchers; and
• Receive and keep in proper custody all bills, invoices and other claims pending payments.
6.4.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Form IV/VI with Accounting Technician Certificate (ATEC) of NBAA or Accounting Certificate from a recognized Institution.
6.4.3 REMUNERATION

6.5 PRINCIPAL OFFICE ASSISTANT – 1 POST
6.5.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise the cleanliness of office premises and give advice;
• Label, stamp, and accession;
• Arrange catalogue cards;
• Prepare office tea;
• Photocopy documents and maintain the photocopier;
• Distribute files and other documents;
• Assist in directing office visitors;
• Report on requirements of maintenance of office equipments; and
• Recommend on the improvement of general cleanliness.
6.5.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Certificate in secondary education.
• At least three years working experience.
6.5.3 REMUNERATION
• Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the Institution’s salary scale
