1. Job TitleResearch Coordinator.(one post):
Duty station: National TB and Leprosy Program Dares salaam.
Reporting to: Program Manager
Purpose of the Job: To coordinate all TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy related researches in the country

Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks.

  1. To take lead in identifying key TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy priority operational and basic research agenda
  2. Take lead in the formulation of TB,TB/HIV and Leprosy research agenda
  3. To coordinate research academic institutions and implementing partners in implementing the TB,TB/HIV and Leprosy research agenda
  4. To monitor and keep inventory of all relevant TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy researches in the country
  5. To keep track and inform the program on new technologies in the control of TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy globally
  6. To take lead in representing the MOHCDGEC /NTLP collaborating with research and academic institutions and implementing partners in the conduct of research.
  7. To coordinate the dissemination of research findings both nationally and internationally
  8. To take lead in the translation of research findings into policy and policy into practice
  9. To mobilise resources for the conduct of TB, TB/HIV and Leprosy researches through Partnership and development of proposals
  10. Ay other duties as assigned by the programme manage

Academic Qualifications and experience

  1. Medical doctor
  2. Master's degree in Epidemiology, Field Epidemiology or Public Health. Master's Degree in Statistics is an added advantage
  3. At least three years' experience in the field of Research
  4. A good knowledge of statistical software package ( STATA, SPSS, Excel, Epi Info, Epi data)
  5. Good command of English and Kiswahili both in writing and speaking
  6. Sound computer skills: Microsoft office applications
2. Job title : Zonal Reference Tuberculosis(TB) Culture Laboratory 
Focal person (One post)
Duty stations: TB Zonal Reference laboratory, Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital Laboratory
Reporting to: Head of Central Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory
Purpose of the Job: To coordinate all activities related to TB culture in central zone

Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks.

  1. Provides technical support on TB culture related activities at regional and district levels
  2. Supervises timely TB specimen referrals from the satellite laboratories within the zone to the culture zonal laboratory.
  3. Supervises timely referrals of positive TB culture slopes from the culture laboratory for Drug Susceptibility Testing (DST)
  4. Monitors turnaround time for specimens sent for culture and DST and timely reporting of patients requiring clinical management.
  5. Ensures quality of specimen sent for culture is maintained by organizing trainings, supportive supervisions and mentorships of relevant health care workers.
  6. Ensures implementation of Internal Quality Control forlB culture
  7. Ensures implementation of External Quality Control for TB culture
  8. Ensures Standard Operating procedures and Job AIDS for TB culture are in line with NTLP guidelines.
  9. To Prepare and timely shares with the Central Reference Culture Laboratory (CTRL) quarterly Plans of Action for TB culture activities, quarterly and annual report.
  10. Ensures adequate TB culture laboratory supplies through timely quantification and forecasting
  11. Any other duties assigned by the Laboratory manager/Director/Head of laboratory services
Academic Qualifications and experience

  1. Degree in Medical Laboratory Science plus two years post qualifying experience
  2. Registered with Tanzania Health Laboratory Practitioners Council 
  3. Computer literacy - Microsoft office package
  4. Fluent in written and spoken language (English and Swahili)
3. Job Title: Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) officer one post
Duty station: National TB and Leprosy Program Dares salaam.
Reporting to: ICT Manager
Purpose of the Job: To develop and manage all ICT infrastructure and related human resources within the NTLP

Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks.

  1. To advice the program manager on required ICT equipment and services for the Program.
  2. To install, infigure and perform daily required updates/upgrades of all Program's ICT systems and networks ie computer hardware, computer programs, network systems, websites and file systems.
  3. To provide IT technical support, administration and maintenance to NTLP staff at National, Regional and District levels 
  4. To manage the Program's electronic database server to ensure data availability and accessibility while maintaining data security.
  5. To provide technical support on database tools to data entrants at all levels of service delivery through training, supportive supervision and mentorship.
  6. To train health care workers at all levels on ICT usage.
  7. To regularly compile and maintain an accurate inventory of ICT equipment and systems
  8. To Compile quarterly reports on ICT usage and inventories of equipment and systems
  9. Any other duties as assigned by the program manager
Academic Qualifications and experience
  1. First degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electronic and Communication
  2. Master's degree in ICT will be an added advantage
  3. Experience in computer and communication systems troubleshooting and maintenance
  4. At least three years' experience on designing, developing and managing computer databases,
  5. Good command of English and Kiswahili both in writing and speaking
  6. Sound leadership and managerial skills

Department: Preventive Services at National TB and Leprosy Program NTLP
Unit: Central TB Reference Laboratory (CTRL)
Reporting to: Head of CTRL.
Purpose of the Job: To supervise, manage and analyses TB, and Leprosy data and TB/HIV in the Programme.

Duties and responsibilities for the post of data analyst:

  1. To assist the head of CTRL as data analyst and other duties which the employer may call the upon the employee to perform
  2. To supervise Collection of programme data and verify quality TB, and Leprosy and TB/HIV data from various sources.
  3. Compile and analyses data in accordance with programme indicators.
  4. Develop summary reports on TB and Leprosy and TB/HIV control activities within NTLP scope.
  5. To work closely with NTLP staff on all matters related to data analysis and management.
  6. Collaborate with other stakeholders in training of health workers in monitoring and evaluation.
Academic qualifications and experience:

  1. Degree in Statistics or Mathematics from recognized institutions.
  2. At least 2 years' experience in Health Management information system.
  3. A problem-solving and interpersonal skill.
  4. Good skill in use of statistical package software
  5. Good command in English both speaking and writing
  6. Preferably a Tanzania citizen not more than 45 years of ag
