Job Title: Q Grade Cupper Coffee
Reports to: General Manager
Location: Songea
Purpose: The Q grade cupper will be responsible for assessing coffee quality through determining and analyzing the distinctive coffee flavors, aroma profile, cleanliness etc, As a test for superior product development and quality control
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Overall quality' control for wet and dry processing at the plantation and performing other Quality control protocols as required by managers and team
2) Cupping of the plantation coffees and prepare reports for the various lots
3) Understand buyer requirements for coffee and then allocate suitable lots from stocks to the Buyers. He would also suggest to company on processing so that it can meet needs of our Buyers
4) Sending out samples and pre-shipment samples to various Buyers
5) Controlling and monitoring shipment of plantation coffees from plantation/dry mill
6) Testing & preparation of coffee samples for dispatch to potential customers and ensuring that there is nil coffee quality claim from customers
7) Staging and prior inspection of coffee for processing so as to meet daily quality & production schedules.
8) Working with the rest of the quality control team to adjust! develop new coffee profiles & blending matrix as needed
9) Developing a structure for sorting incoming Coffee
10) Ensuring that Coffee Sample Registers, ledgers are maintained
11) Maintain quality feedback/complaint tracker for all Coffee exports.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
• Must be a Q-Grade Cupper with experience of over 10 years in cupping of Arabica coffees in food & beverage processing especially coffee roasting & brewing . Knowledge of specialty coffee cupping and preparation of spider web chart. would be preferable.
• A resident in Southern Highlands of Tanzania is preferable.
• University Degree in Food Science, Processing & Technology or its equivalent
• Professional training or food quality certification is an added advantage
• Should have wide working experience and exposure (at least 5 years
• Operational knowledge of Coffee business & coffee types
• Have knowledge in computer Microsoft packages
• Good analytical & reporting skills
