For the past 50 years Amnesty International (AI) has brought people together to fight for human rights. Strong leadership is vital when pushing for the development and implementation of legal standards and norms in order to empower human rights activism globally.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Directors of Amnesty International (AI) have taken the decision to decentralise the headquarters of the organisation based in London to Regional Offices around the globe. As a result AI is about to rationalise its London estate and undertake a major refurbishment project of one of its IS London buildings to improve the utilisation, efficiency and effectiveness of the office space. This is a fascinating project not only addressing the issue of physical space but changing the way our members of staff work.
The job holder will manage the efficient and effective implementation of the internal office moves to support and enable the project to refurbish the IS workspace to meet organisational requirements.
ABOUT YOU:
As someone experienced in organising and managing complex office moves, you’ll be well versed in the principles of safe space planning and ergonomics, and have up to date knowledge of best practice and the latest theories and technologies related to space planning and optimisation.
You’ll have experience of contract specification writing, and procuring and managing contractors and will be able to liaise effectively with IT colleagues, wider staff and varied contractors. Confident of your expertise you’ll talk authoritatively about technical and practical space planning and building services issues and requirements.
This experience may have been gained in a large organisation or a busy facilities team – somewhere you will have had to balance conflicting priorities and demands and manage a busy workload, perhaps alongside your duties managing a team, contractors or programme.
ABOUT AMNESTY:
Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. We reach almost every country in the world and have:
- more than 2 million members and supporters who drive forward our fight for rights
- more than 5 million activists who strengthen our calls for justice
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness, freedom and truth wherever they're denied. And whether we're applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we're all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
