Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) is one of Africa's most eminent health research organizations. ACCOUNTING OFFICER- (2 POST DAR)
POSITION SUMMARY
Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) seeks exceptional individuals to strengthen the stores in Finance & Accounts department to meet standards of excellence required of a world-class research institute Accounting officer will reporting to the Senior Accountant, the accountant is responsible for day to day management of projects within the portfolio, Review project budgets, initiate/process payments approved by project leaders, keep records of daily movement of project transaction, reporting and follow up on clearance of advance payments
DUTIES OF ACCOUNTS OFFICER.
• Prepare projects report as per the donor requirements
• Provide monthly project financial status reports to projects leaders ( and whenever needed)
• Prepare and submit monthly cash and budget balances to Project Management Accountant
• Prepare annual project cash flow report and submit the same to project leaders
• Prepare and submit quarterly projects reconciliation report to the Project Management accountant for review.
• Provision of information requested by donors with liaison with Project Management Accountant.
(Financial Report, Projections, Copies of Vouchers etc)
• Initiate payments and process payments
• Keep records of daily movements of project transactions ( Project subsidiary ledger)
• Verify imprest retirement
• Keep track and record all projects fixed assets – in the respective project fixed assets register
• Keep copies of donor contracts ( soft and hard copies) and all project reports
• (custodian of project documents)
• Work with project leaders to review budgets before submitting the same to the project budget team
• Control project expenditure v/s budget
• Manage TGs transaction and reports
• Control of TGs budgets
QUALIFICATIONS QUALITIES AND EXPERIENCE.
• First degree or advanced Diploma in Accounts, a certification in Accounts will be an added advantage.
• Project Management skills will be an added advantage.
