NUTRITION - 1 PROJECT OFFICER

The Centre for Counselling, Nutrition ond Health Care (COUNSENUTH) is an indigenous' non-governmental, non- profit organization in Tanzania established in 1998 with its offices in Dar es Salaam. COUNSENUTH is dedicated to improving the quality of lives of vulnerable groups through provision of preventive health education, counselling and nutritional services, by focusing on active community involvement.
COUNSENUTH is inviting applications to fill ONE position of a Project Officer, based in Dar es Salaam. An applicant should be capable of working in rural communities and with people of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds.
The incumbent must have very good interpersonal skills, highly motivated, creative, team player with high degree of integrity and must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English.

Qualifications and Experience
The applicant must:
Hold a bachelor’s degree in sociology, or any other relevant social science degree.
Having experience in nutrition/public health and / or governance issues will be an added advantage
Have experience in community engagement/mobilization and capacity building process.
Have experience of working with government institutions, civil society organizations and community partners.

SCOPE OF WORK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with COUNSENUTH Senior Project Officers; and other team members in coordinating and facilitating the lishe - Wajibu project activities. -,
Provide technical support to the district nutrition officers and selected CSOs implementing the project.
Work with multi-sectoral nutrition committees for inclusion of nutrition related interventions into district plans and budgets.
Sensitize community leaders including councilors in the identified districts on the importance of increasing investment in nutrition and good governance in nutrition issues.
Participate in training and mentorship, of CSOs good governance and accountability in nutrition programs.
Participate in development of information materials targeting reduction of stunting and good .governance and accountability.
Work with other relevant partners and stakeholders in governance in nutrition, maternal' and child nutrition
activities in the districts.
Prepare and timely submission of monthly, quarterly and annual project reports.
Work with the M&E Officer at COUNSENUTH to conduct project documentation and monitoring and evaluation in the districts. -
