ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
LFS Financial Systems GmbH (LFS) is an advisory and management firm based in Berlin, Germany specialized in MSME finance. Its major clients include the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW), among others. LFS has built a network of specialized small business banks (AccessBanks) for which it acts as the management company and holds significant ownership.
ABOUT THE JOB:
LFS is seeking a Chief Financial Officer. S/he will be responsible for the management of the bank’s asset-liability structure, debt funding and refinancing, financial planning and budgeting, liquidity and market risk management, internal and external reporting, and cost accounting and controlling systems but also the administration department (to be confirmed).
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Undertake staff responsibility over the finance and administration department and represent the bank’s financial results to external stakeholders;
- Elaborate a needs-based training program for all staff in the finance department;
- Represent the bank values internally by being a model for all staff in the bank in terms of ethics, conduct, and commitment.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting with CPA/ACCA or Chartered Accountancy equivalent required, Master’s degree is preferred;
- About 5-10 years of professional experience including experience in best-practice financial management of a bank/financial sector institution, preferably in SSA;
- Extensive experience in best-practice financial management of a company, desirably a bank or other regulated financial institution;
- Proven work experience with key refinancing instruments such as syndicated loans, bonds, and equity-type of products;
- Demonstrated abilities in budget preparation and management, and general ledger management;
- Thorough understanding of operational risk of a financial institution;
- Ability and willingness to integrate into the international team and to train and motivate local staff on a daily basis;
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills, effective way of communication;
- Excellent IT skills, familiarity with implementing and working with complex integrated management information and accounting systems.
