Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) was established under the Tanzania Revenue Authority Act No.11 0f 1995.The Authority is a semi-autonomous agency of the Government responsible for the administration of the Central Government taxes as well as several non-tax revenues. TRA is currently implementing its Fourth Corporate Plan whose vision is to ‘Increase Revenue to GDP ratio to 19.9 by 2018’
TRA would like to recruit dynamic experienced and qualified personnel to fill vacant positions in the Information & Communication Technology and the Internal Audit Departments. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians for the following positions:
Major Activities of the Job
(i) Installing, testing new versions of OracleDatabase managemnet systems (DBMS) AND UPGRADING Oracle Servers and application tools.
(ii) Allocating system Storage and planning future storage requirements for data base system
(iii) Working with system engineers to ensure that the appropriate hardware resources are allocated to the databases for availability and optimum performance
(iv) Monitoring and optimizing performance of databases to provide fast query responses to front end users
(v) Developing, managing and testing back up and recovery plans of Database information
(vi) Ensuring that storage, archieving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
(vii) Controlling and monitoring user acces to the database
(viii) Writting database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary( ‘metadata’)
(ix) Performing other related duties as may be assigned by supervisor
Minimum Job Requirements.
Qualification.
(i) Advanced Diploma or Degree in Information and Communications Technology or Computer Scienceor Software Engineering or Systems Engineering or Electronics Engineering or its equivalent.
(ii) Ability to manage internal and external Oracle Database security, monitor and turn a database to provide service and experience in Oracle Database Administration Tool,PL/SQL Programming,UNIX shell scripting is a must.
(iii) Masters degree in Information and Comunications Technology or Computer science or Software Engineering or system engineering or electronics engineering or its equivalent from a recognised Instituion/ univerisity will be added advantage.
