Senior Purchasing Officer (1 POST) 

Lafarge Tanzania (Mbeya Cement Company Limited) is a subsidiary of Lafarge group of companies with its head quarters in Paris France. Lafarge is among the leading companies in building materials and is at the top position on cement industry in the world. Lafarge Tanzania is seeking to recruit highly motivated Senior Purchasing Officer to be based in its Mbeya Plant. 

Position Reporting: PROCUMENT MANAGER 
Roles and Responsibilities 
Ensure "that all purchases are in line with purchasing procedures and that they meet all legal requirements and company purchasing policy. 
Abide by all of Mbeya Cement's Health & Safety standards, carry out VFL's (Visible Felt 
Leadership) at Mbeya Cement sites as well as supplier locations. communicate and ensure compliance of the standards 
Coordinate with end user on specifications issues relating to requisitions 
Drive cost savings strategy 
Prepare draft contracts where necessary based on company purchasing policies 
Conduct sourcing tasks within prescribed framework and tools 
Examine supplier invoices and recommend for approval 
Provide support services in all matter related to tendering process 
Technical Competencies 
Education: Bachelor degree or Advance Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business and/or Economics. Previous experience of 5 to 7 years preferably in manufacturing or mining industry will be an added advantage. 

Additional skills: 
Knowledge on commercial contracts drafting and administration 
Possess skills in the art of negotiation. supervising and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders 
Attentive to details 
Must have computer operational skills and strong commercial acumen 
Ability to perform duties with minimum direction within company guidelines 
Must be proactive; follow through and deliver on commitments within agreed timescale 
Knowledge of Tanzanian Laws and customs will be an added advantage
