Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) was established under the Tanzania Revenue Authority Act No.11 0f 1995.The Authority is a semi-autonomous agency of the Government responsible for the administration of the Central Government taxes as well as several non-tax revenues. TRA is currently implementing its Fourth Corporate Plan whose vision is to ‘Increase Revenue to GDP ratio to 19.9 by 2018’
TRA would like to recruit dynamic experienced and qualified personnel to fill vacant positions in the Information & Communication Technology and the Internal Audit Departments. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians for the following positions:
Major Activities of the Job
(i) Conduct systems analysis;
(ii) Specify and document user requirements for new systems;
(iii) Design, develop and implement web applications including portals.
(iv) Support and enhance the existing web applications;
(v) Design and develop web interfaces for various systems in place;
(vi) Responsible for administering web servers and web systems;
(vii) Monitor web servers and site performance on daily basis;
(viii) Work with other developers in software development projects;
(ix) Liaise and provide technical support to all users and stakeholders of TRA web-based systems;
(x) Advise on overall strategy for sustainable implementation of the web solutions
(xi) Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Minimum Job Requirements
Qualification
(i) Advanced Diploma or Degree in Computer science, Information and Communications Technology or Software Engineering or Systems Engineering or Electronics Engineering or its equivalent.
(ii) Knowledge of Java, Visual Studio and Net tools such as Visual C#, Web servers such as Apache, Tomcat and IIS, Data base such as Oracle 11g and MySQL and Operating systems such as Linux and Windows Server 2008 and Hand-written XML and SQL is a must.
(iii) Ability to modify or customize web solutions developed using a variety of tools as well as ability to organise and manage multiple proprieties is a must.

Three (3) years of relevant working experience
