Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) was established under the Tanzania Revenue Authority Act No.11 0f 1995.The Authority is a semi-autonomous agency of the Government responsible for the administration of the Central Government taxes as well as several non-tax revenues. TRA is currently implementing its Fourth Corporate Plan whose vision is to ‘Increase Revenue to GDP ratio to 19.9 by 2018’
TRA would like to recruit dynamic experienced and qualified personnel to fill vacant positions in the Information & Communication Technology and the Internal Audit Departments. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians for the following positions:
Major activities of the job
(i) Develop, review and implement a workable business continuity/disaster recovery plan for the organization
(ii) carries out regular updates of the TRA Security guidelines in line with technological changes
(iii) develops and maintains the IT Service Continuity Management Process
(iv) Performing risk analysis in view of applying appropriate security level to the organization’s assets
(v) Reviewing the effectiveness of the antivirus software installed at various organizations’ systems and advises accordingly
(vi) Assesses internal security control adequacies including carrying out verification of users’ access rights in the systems
(vii) Ensure physical and logical security controls are implemented in all TRA’s systems.
(viii) Manage IT related security incidents. This includes coordinating the disaster recovery team and liaising with the business
(ix) Carry out vulnerability and penetration tests on different systems and advise on the results obtained accordingly
(x) Survey available modern security controls and advise accordingly
(xi) Perform information security awareness according to the approved program
(xii) Carry out any other duties as may be directed by the management
Minimum Job Requirements:
Qualification
(i) Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or computer Engineering or equivalent qualification a recognised Institution/ University.
(ii) Certification in CISA/CISM or its equivalent and knowledge of security implementation and monitoring in LANs, WANs, MANs. Router configuration, VSATs, Switches and Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) or its equivalent is required.
(iii) Masters degree in Computer science or computer Engineering or its equivalent from recognised Institution/University will be added advantage.
