Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) was established under the Tanzania Revenue Authority Act No.11 0f 1995.The Authority is a semi-autonomous agency of the Government responsible for the administration of the Central Government taxes as well as several non-tax revenues. TRA is currently implementing its Fourth Corporate Plan whose vision is to ‘Increase Revenue to GDP ratio to 19.9 by 2018’
TRA would like to recruit dynamic experienced and qualified personnel to fill vacant positions in the Information & Communication Technology and the Internal Audit Departments. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified Tanzanians for the following positions:
Major Activities of the job
(i) Design and maintain the TRA Network including IP addressing scheme.
(ii) Protect the network against unwanted intruders (provide security).
(iii) Maintain and configure the TRA e-mail system and Intranet.
(iv) Maintain internet connection to users and ensure maximum availability.
(v) Maintain and configure the TRA internal domain.
(vi) Maintain and configure the Routers and Firewall.
(vii) Maintain the TIVOLI Network monitoring and configuration system.
(viii) Plan and set up TRA Helpdesk system.
(ix) Maintain TRA electronic Library
(x) Administer and maintain TRA Local and Wide Area Network and Virtual Private Network.
(xi) Create users and allocate rights in the TRA internal domain (Authentication and system Security Administration) for all system e.g. ITAX, CMVRS, EPICOR, DLS.
(xii) Attend to non functioning PCs, Printers etc.
(xiii) Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Job Requirements
Qualification
(i) Advanced Diploma or Degree in Telecommunications or Information and Communications Technology or Computer Science or Software Engineering or
Systems Engineering or Electronics Engineering or its equivalent.
(ii) Practical Knowledge of LANs, WANs,MANs, Router configuration, VSATs, Switches, and Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) is required.
(iii) Masters degree in Telecommunications or Information and Comunications Technology or Computer science or Software Engineering or System Engineering or Electronics Engineering or its equivalent from a recognised Instituion/ univerisity or Certification in CCNA/CCNP or its equivalent will be added advantage.

Three (3) years of relevant working experience
