JOB TITLE: BOILERMAKER - (Post)
KEY RESULT AREA/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with company safety occupational health and environmental policies and procedures
• Ensure assigned work is carried out to professional standard in a timely manner
• Follow Safe Work Procedures and other maintenance procedures
• Carry out fabrication work and corrective maintenance activities both in a workshop and in the field to improve equipment availability, reliability safety and functionality
• Carry out repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance activities in the field to ensure plant equipments are in a safe and efficient manner to achieve production and cost targets
• Assist other personnel with maintenance work as required
• Maintain tools and ensure the workplace is maintained in a safe working condition
• Report hazards, incidents, equipment damage or near misses to the Boilermaker First Line Leader
• Provide accurate and timely feedback to Boilermaker First Line Leader on conditions that may effect functionality or safety of equipment
• Ensure the Boilermaker First Line Leader is kept informed on the status of assigned tasks
• Read and markup fabrication drawings and prepare sketches for fabrication
• Be proactive in all aspects for plant security to prevent and eliminate theft and fraud, including reporting observed or suspected breaches of company policy
• Efficiently use resources to minimize cost while maintaining quality
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Boilermaker First Line Leader
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS
Education
• Trade qualifications in welding or metal fabrication
Experience
• Five (5) years practical work experience in boiler making and/or metal fabrication
• Previous experience in industrialized plant
• Practical welding and fabrication skills
• Lay-up and mark-out technical skills
• Ability to read fabrication drawings ‘
• Technical boiler making skills and experience ‘
• Familiarity with best practices in workplace Health and Safety and Environmental procedures
