Trainee - Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer

• Global apparel and footwear organisation in the Fortune 500
• 6-12 months training provided in Egypt and/or Central America
• Stationed in Tanzania

Key Responsibilities of a Trainee Engineer:

• Analyze data, reports, and process in order to improve the productivity and profitability of the operation through initiation and implementation of projects that optimize costs, efficiency, and quality.
• Recommends the best methods of space, humanpower, material, and equipment utilization in the production facilities.
• Work directly or indirectly with manufacturers in order to improve efficiencies, productivity, quality, and on time delivery. Help manufacturers to reduce manufacturing cycle time and improve speed to market.
• Investigates, plans, and works with other departments, such as production and quality, to execute cost reduction initiatives by analyzing and evaluating projects, developing action plans, coordinating, implementing, and following-up for results.
• Assists facilities in the area of workplace safety.
• Determine cost effect of special requests from other teams.
• Generate monthly and quarterly activities reports, as well as detailed factory trip report with summaries of opportunities, results of tests, and photos/diagrams.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are looking for graduates with the following experience and skills:

• Degree in Industrial, Mechnical or Manufacturing Engineering
• Practical knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Industrial Engineering field.
• Desire to build a career in the garment manufacturing field
• Preferably with exposure to manufacturing, cost reduction, and logistics fields
• Excellent oral & written communication skills in English.
• Strong in Computer skills eg Excel.
• Detail-oriented, creative, good analytical & presentation skills.
