CAD/ GIS TECHNICIAN

Department/Office: CityPlan Consultants (T) Limited
Reporting to: Consultancy Operation Manager
Duty Station: Dar Es Salaam

Responsibilities
• CAD/GIS Analysts analyse and provide technical support to help environmental management, exploration and mining, land ownership titles and urban & regional planning. They perform the following tasks:
Undertake complex computer functions such as 3D modeling to create visual representations of data.
Prepare zoning, site plans, neighborhood plans and village land use plans
Use CAD/GIS software and processes to performing Spatial
Analysis in order to produce data layers, map tables and reports.
Prepare technical documents, reports and summaries using CAD/GIS applications.
Carry out quality control on final data.
Map physical and manmade features
Take measurements & make observations from aerial photographs
Create complex models to assist CityPlan staff and clients.
Study the natural and urban environment
Store data in geographic information systems (GIS)

Education
Diploma in Architecture or Town Planning or Full Technician Certificate (FTC).

Working Experiences
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in urban planning, CAD/GIS, and related fields. Experience in urban design related is desirable. Knowledge of CityPlan areas of professional activities is desired
Language
English and Swahili are the working language of CityPlan group. For this post, fluency in written and oral English is required.

Assessment Method
Evaluation of qualified candidates for this position may include substantive assessment which will be followed by competency based interview
