Communications Internship - Tanzania

Background
We are an organization of young people dedicated to ending the use of rape and other forms of sexual violence in conflict, founded in July of 2014 following the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict. Our mission is to ensure that the youth voice is included in every discussion, consultation, and initiative to end rape in war. We have five core areas of focus: Improving Evidence and Data, Sexual Violence against Men and Boys, Sexual Violence against Women and Girls (including FGM and Child Marriage), Sexual Violence against Especially Vulnerable Persons (including the disabled and children born from rape), and the Role of Youth and NGOs.
We work at multiple levels, aiming at:
  • Increasing the representation of youth survivors, leaders, and activists at high-level meetings and discussions;
  • Empowering and supporting youth to design and implement community-based solutions to sexual violence;
  • Raising international awareness about the effects of conflict-related sexual violence on children and youth.
