Application are invited from qualified candidates to be employed on as Assistant Accountant by Medical Laboratory Scientists Association of Tanzania (MeLSAT)
1.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The candidate will be responsible to oversee the day-to-day activities of the finance function and to ensure it is being run correctly and efficiently, and be expected to add value by supporting the expected growth of the Association. The role will involve extensive liaison with the MeLSAT President, other members of the Management team, and relevant external contacts.
2 STATION OF WORK: To be stationed at the MeLSAT Headquarters in Dar-Es Salaam.
3 REPORTS TO: MeLSAT National Executive Council and MeLSAT President
4.0 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
4.1 A Tanzanian with a Diploma in accountancy preferably Intermediate level (Module D) from NBAA.
4.2 Must have a working experience of not less than three (2) years in a known organization.
4.3 Fluency in English and Kiswahili in both written and spoken
5. SKILLS:
5.1 Should be highly organized and be able to work with minimum supervision.
5.2 Demonstrate excellent communication skills and maintain effective working relationships.
5.3 Must have Computer knowledge - Extensive technical knowledge on various software, hardware and networks. (Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.)
5.4 Ability to record financial information and create consolidated financial statements.
5.5 Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively with high skills at suggesting feasible time and prompt solutions.
5.6 Have a working knowledge of production accounting software, general computer literacy and the ability to work in a team.
6 DUTIES:
6.1 Perform the technical guidance to guide the association in building up a strong association network, to implement the MeLSAT Strategic plans.
6.2 Work on full time. Must be able to produce financial statements in a computerized system on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
6.3 Prepare and maintain the proper books of Accounts
6.4 Prepare the monthly bank reconciliations
6.5 Maintain the data on all MeLSAT members, process and tracks membership payments to ensure compliance of all members.
7.0 SALARY SCALE:
The position carries a very attractive and competitive salary.
