Key Purpose of the role
The purpose of the role is “Cycle Planning and Briefing” i.e the process that results in decisions being made, and communicated appropriately (with full supporting materials), about the specific activity that field sales will deliver to our customers each sales cycle, and achieve our commercial and wider business objectives.
Cycle planning and briefing is not just important, it is critical. It enables us to ensure the right activity is brilliantly executed in the right outlets at the right time and our sales teams have everything they need to do this. It should thus ensure the maximum return on investment from Below-The-Line spends.
Leadership Responsibility
- Alignment and agreement on the objectives of Cycle Planning
- Support and agreement on key responsibilities and parameters; CP&A
- Alignment and sponsorship of the stages of the quarterly planning cycle
- Agreement and support on the sign off of the quarterly plan and the role of the Exec and leadership teams if any changes are made outside of the timing windows
- Challenge and build any additions or changes
- Sponsorship and support on communication of the process across all functions of the business
Accountable for cycle planning process for Beer / Spirits and is responsible for:
- Defining the process and getting sign off of activity to be delivered within each quarter (working and leading other relevant teams and people required to deliver the activity).
- Documenting, communicating, and running the cycle plan, including sign off and status updates with stakeholders and those directly involved in delivering the activity.
- Logistics and execution of the developing and delivering activity within the planning cycle.
- Ensuring that the balance of contributions and activity within the cycle plan is aligned to delivering our commercial and business objectives and any change to the signed-off quarterly cycle plan is business critical in nature and has the approval and sign off by the SLT, Exec, and MLT
- Further to this, the CP&A manager is responsible for determining how requests for ad-hoc activities are dealt with (i.e assessing, appraising, rejecting etc).
- All activity is delivered on time and in full according to what was agreed and signed at the beginning of the quarterly cycle.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- University Graduate in Marketing or Business Administration.
- At least 3 years in brand management, trade marketing and marketing support.
- Comprehensive understanding of Tanzania Beer & Spirits market
