Videographer Part-Time

Background:

The USAID-Feed the Future Processing and Consumption Project—popularly known as Tuboreshe Chakula (TC)—works to transform a critical segment of Tanzania’s agro-processing industry and dramatically increase the supply of and demand for nutritious, fortified foods, especially among vulnerable populations in the food-insecure regions of Morogoro, Dodoma and Manyara.  The project has many successes that could be best documented through video, allowing other clients and USAID to be able to view TC’s achievements.  TC has worked to create and market a micronutrient powder that is new to Tanzania and needs to be explained to Tanzanians so they are educated on the importance of the product and how to correctly use it.TC is looking for a videographer to be available on an as-needed basis to provide the work detailed below.

Location and Time:

This position will be based in Tanzania and include travel to all of TC’s field project offices- Manyara Region, Dodoma Region and Morogoro Region.  The videographer will need to spend approximately a week in each region including travel time.

The videographer will often have to shoot in dark and dusty environments and should have the equipment to operate in that setting.

Goal:

The project would like to use video to allow clients to explain how they implemented what TC had taught them and what success they had.  These videos will be shown to other clients, as well as provide documentation for USAID on the project deliverables.  A video will also be filmed to show the correct way to use micronutrient powder (Virutubishi).

Activities:

·         Storyboard all videos with TC’s Communications Specialist and other staff, including main points, persons to be interviewed, suggested B-roll.

·         Travel to field sites for filming.

·         Present first-draft edit to project staff for feedback.

·         Incorporate feedback in second or final version and present to staff.

·         Organize final videos by date and location into a soft copy database that TC can easily navigate.
