Amref Health Africa is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) whose mission is "to improve the health of disadvantaged people in Africa as a means for them to escape poverty and improve the quality of their lives". Amref Health Africa has over 500 employees throughout Africa with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. Amref Health Africa has offices in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Tanzania. Amref Health Africa has thirteen national offices in Europe and North America for liaisons and fundraising.
Amref Health Africa - Tanzania, one of the fast expanding country office programmes is largely supported by Multi, Bilateral and National donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDSITB/STI, Reproductive and Family Health, Water and sanitation, Malaria, Training, clinical outreach and disaster management.
Amref Health Africa is therefore seeking to recruit highly qualified, experienced and motivated individual for the following positions based in Dar es Salaam and Lake Zone Mwanza.

Programme Manager Lake Zone
REPORTS TO : COUNTRY DIRECTOR
JOB OBJECTIVES
To provide timely management leadership, advocacy, Technical and Administrative support to Amref Health Africa Projects implemented in the lake zone. Identify new opportunities and develop proposals to address community challenges in line with Amref Health Africa corporate strategy and Tanzania country policies, promote Amref Health Africa advocacy agenda through Programme implementation and meetings to all CBOs, CSOs, NGOs (Including NGO partners like National Institute for Medical Research - NIMR, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine - LSHTM, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine - LSTM), government institutions and communities operating in the Lake Zone. Liaise with potential donors for Amref Health Africa Lake Zone Programme development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensuring timely managerial and technical support to all Project managers and Support team to
have efficient and high quality of work.
• Writing of concepts and proposals for the Programme Development (Facilitate Fund raising)
• support in financial management for the Programme
• Maintain excellent working relationships with Government partners, CBOs, CSOs, NGOs, communities and donors.
• To provide timely and efficient support to the Administration unit and the management of resources
• Member of SMT and PJMS

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:-
• Minimum of Masters Degree with integrated Public Health knowledge, Public Policy or related field.
• At least five years continuous experience in the project management including implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting.
• Three years experience in working with NGO setting and knowledgeable on project cycle management and research methodologies
At least three years experience working in partnership with Local Governments, CBOs, CSOs, and communities.
• Strong team leader and player, with excellent communications and interpersonal skills. Very good written and spoken English and good spoken Kiswahili skills.
• Proven skills in proposal writing, i.e. at least three successful bids for project funding.
• Good knowledge of national and international strategies relating to health and social development.
• Experienced on computer skills and Internet packages.
