Amref Health Africa is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) whose mission is "to improve the health of disadvantaged people in Africa as a means for them to escape poverty and improve the quality of their lives". Amref Health Africa has over 500 employees throughout Africa with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. Amref Health Africa has offices in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Tanzania. Amref Health Africa has thirteen national offices in Europe and North America for liaisons and fundraising.
Amref Health Africa - Tanzania, one of the fast expanding country office programmes is largely supported by Multi, Bilateral and National donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDSITB/STI, Reproductive and Family Health, Water and sanitation, Malaria, Training, clinical outreach and disaster management.
Amref Health Africa is therefore seeking to recruit highly qualified, experienced and motivated individual for the following positions based in Dar es Salaam and Lake Zone Mwanza.
Finance Manager
REPORTS TO : COUNTRY DIRECTOR JOB OBJECTIVES:-
To provide financial management services for Country Office spearheading financial management, control and forward planning for finances line with the Amref Health Africa Country office and overall corporate operations strategy.
Ensuring the financial integrity of the Tanzania Country programmes and timely availability of reliable financial management information and accounts
DUTIES
• Ensure financial operations are in compliance with Amref Health Africa policies and regulations Ensure financial management systems are in place and functioning
• Transparent preparation & review of management accounts, financial and reporting procedures
• Effective management of finances and financial internal control systems, correct financial data, record keeping and reporting
• Provides HQ and management with concise and timely financial reports that gives a correct
overview of financial status of the country programme
• Management & supervise the finance team, equipment inventory and assets management
EXPERIENCE:-
• Minimum seven years in senior financial management position NGO experience and bilateral financial management experience Accounting software SUN or equivalent, MIS excel
QUALIFICATIONS
MSc/A in finance and CPA or relevant accounting degree from a recognized university or equivalent
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
• Excellent teamwork, ethical standards and integrity Energy and ability to work under tight deadlines
