The role
A Store person is responsible for receive, issue and administer the correct and required parts and consumables to ensure effective store operations.
Your profile
- Form IV with passes in Mathematics & English
- Computer literate
- Employment medical fitness
- Minimum one (1) years' experience in store / warehouse operations
- Experience in mining environment an advantage
- Work according to site and company safe working procedures.
- Knowledge and experience in the Sandvik CMS system
- Ability to work accurately, efficiently.
- Foster continued good relations with all clients and staff.
- Be flexible, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.
- Ability to interface and work with Technicians / peers / client staff, with strong interpersonal skills and a good team player.
- Must be able to work underground.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing accurate information to assist in keeping the CMS up to date on warehouse stock, receipts, issues and orders.
- Load / Offload items to / from delivery trucks, receive and dispatch parts and consumables, pack / unpack boxes and crates.
- Inspect goods to check for possible freight damage and report to your Supervisor.
- Update new bin locations as directed by Supervisor.
- Pick parts as indicated on picking notes.
- Clean parts during picking.
- Check picked parts during handover for dispatching.
- Ensure effective storage practices, including correct bin locations and correctly stacked parts / components.
- Bin received goods in the correct locations indicated on the binning slips and update bin cards.
- Check and record goods before dispatch.
- Report faults on fork-lift, office equipment and store tools timeously to your direct Supervisor.
- Perform stock counts as directed by Supervisor.
- File POD's and keep record of both delivered and undelivered invoices, retrieve POD's on request.
- Ensure your work areas meet SMC Safety standards and targets.
- Support the Sandvik "Zero Harm" and "Developing a Culture of Consequence" programs.
- Report hazards, near misses and promote the Sandvik EHS culture across the East African territory.
- Foster continued good relations with all client staff and understand the Customers business processes.
- Identify professional career goals and development needs and suggest training and development opportunities that will help achieve these goals.
- Complete all work required for training attended within the period under review.
