POLICY ANALYST

Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) is an apex private sector member based organization mandated to devefe,p and promote the horticultural industry (flowers, fruits, vegetables, spices, herbs and horticultural seeds) in Tanzania. TAHA's goal is to improve the growth and competitiveness of horticultural industry in the country for social and economic gains. TAHA is an effective voicing platform representing value chain actors (fanners, processors, exporters and service providers) in the industry. TAHA is looking for qualified candidates for fill the below vacancies:


The Association is looking for a dynamic and experienced Policy Analyst to support its outreach activities. The chosen candidate will be stationed in Arusha and will be reporting to the Policy and Advocacy Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Identify policy issues facing the horticultural industry and device smart mechanisms to address them
Assist in policy research and analysis and keep the organization and the industry well informed of policy changes in the country and analyze their effects on the horticulture industry development.
Represent TAHA in policy dialogues, conferences, meetings and other relevant events
Assist in preparing policy briefs, industry policy position papers, policy guidelines and public communication material on policy and related matters
Organize trainings and awareness events on new/developed policies to understand their enforcement mechanisms and to impart the knowledge to the horticultural stakeholders. .
Assist in maintaining solid relations with stakeholders and external parties, including development partners, the Government, and other business partners.
Assist in writing of future projects concept notes, proposals, budgets, and progress reports.
Any other duties as shall be ass1gned by the CEO and Policy and Advocacy Manager.

qualifications and Experience

A degree in agribusiness, policy analysis, economics and trade, business administration or international development. A masters degree in any of the
mentioned fields will be an added advantage;
Experience of at least 3 years working at mid-level position with either a public and private sector organization on policy issues;
At least 2 years professional experience in the areas of policy formulation and analysis;
Good analytical, interpretation and computer skills;
Diligent, highly organized and self-motivating individual, Proficiency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili;
Knowledge and experience in horticultural industry will be an added advantage A valid driving license is required as considerable field work is involved
