SBL was incorporated in 1988 but commenced commercial operations in 1996 with one brewery in Dar es Salaam. The company was acquired by EABL in 2010 and has three breweries located in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza and Moshi. SBL key beer brands include Serengeti, Tusker and Senator, as well as distribution of global Diageo spirit brands.
Key Purpose of the role
• Act as a champion for Diageo’s global policies, ensuring that policy local owners are aware of their responsibilities and have clear plans for how their policies will be embedded locally
• Oversight of the implementation of global compliance programmes in SBL, e.g. KYBP, record retention
• Conduct business unit communications and training on CoBC and other compliance matters, including delivery of the annual Pathway of Pride programme
• Facilitate the annual CoBC training and ACC signoff processes
• Ensure that compliance beaches, including confidential Speak Up reports, are managed in accordance with Diageo policy, including coordination with the investigation and disciplinary processes
• Coordinated the company risk management process, including updating the risk footprint and mitigation plans with the Exec risk owners
• Manage GAR reviews with regards to compliance and ethics, and follow up of actions arising
• Provide specialist compliance advise and assist CCE Manager in continuously seeking opportunities to further strengthen controls and compliance in our organization
Key Accountabilities

3. Leaderships of core compliance and risk management activities
Qualifications and Experience Required
• Professional qualification in Legal, Audit, Accounting or Risk Management
• 5 years experience in compliance or risk based internal auditing
• Strong knowledge of compliance and policies
• Interpersonal relationship building skills and ability to engage at an Exec level
• PC literate but particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook
• Ability to prioritize when faced with conflicting demands.
• Proven ability to manage projects and facilitate business change
