5.23 INSTRUCTOR II (CoEICT DEPERTMENT) -1 POST
5.23.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Teaches up to NTA level 6 and assist teaching in higher NTA levels.
• Administers examinations up to NTA level 8.
• Supervises and assists students in building up their research/ projects.
• Prepare learning resources.
• Conducts research, consultancy and community services.
• Supervises field training.
• Supervises and assist junior staff
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
5.23.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• BSc/BEng/Advanced Diploma either in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Electronics, or Information Systems.
• Experience in Software development; strong programming skills in C/C++, Java or python will be added advantage.
5.23.3 REMUNERATION
• Attractive remuneration package in accordance with the NIT Scheme of Service and
Staff Regulations. Salary scale PTSS 10 - 11.
5.24 ARTISAN I (PLUMBER ) - 1 POST 5.24.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs routine specified tasks that demand higher technical skills under supervision.
• Keeps the work place tidy.
• Collects and takes care of working tools.
• Carries out minor repairs and maintenance.
• Reports maintenance problems to senior staff.
• Assist in Operational repair of machinery, Facilities, building and Infrastructure.
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by immediate Supervisor.
5.24.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Form IV/VI with Trade Test Level III/ I in plumbing
• At least three (3) years of working experience in a similar profession or career.

5.25 SENIOR OFFICE ASSISTANT – 1 POST 5.25.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists in duplicating, photocopying, collecting and stapling materials.
• Preparation of duty rosters as well as ensuring effective and efficient utilisation of junior staff.
• Reports maintenance problems.
• Takes charge of a group of junior Office assistants.
• Ensures cleanliness and tidiness of area of deployment.
• Assists in assigning duties to junior Office assistants.
• Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by immediate Supervisor.
5.25.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Form IV Certificate with passes in English and Kiswahili
At least five (5) years working experience in a similar profession/career.
5.25.3 REMUNERATION
