- Coordinate and run the IT Helpdesk, ensuring that issues experienced by staff are sorted or escalated for resolution; all within the IT agreed SLA.
- Research on various technology that can improve performance within the firm
- Develop and deploy agreed on technologies with members of ITS staff and train end users on how to use them
- Liaise with team members to ensure that the latest updates and patches are distributed on the network at the appropriate time.
- Liaise with team members to ensure that all the machines that are plugged to the network conform to the KPMG global standards.
- Actively research on ways and new technologies that may improve network performance and scalability.
- Participate in the support of different software implementations in KPMG. Includes the installation and maintenance of office software, GreatSoft, idea, mobile application, Antivirus, firewall, networking and eAudIT software and hardware
- Liaise with vendors to ensure that outsourced services e.g. the internet is up and running and maintenance and quality standards are as stipulated in the service level agreement.
- Ensure that all challenges encountered are logged into LANSupport in a bid to identify frequently occurring problems. This helps IT to formulate preventive measures.
- Administer LANSupport helpdesk and give periodic reports to the IT manager.
- Provide financial details as they pertain to IT projects on a monthly basis; and
- Generate proposals on ways to improve the security and through put of the network.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in the computer Science or related discipline with at least 1 year work experience in complex systems design, MS Servers systems software and support;
- Knowledge of Operating systems; current equipment and technologies in use; Windows Server 2003/ 2008/ 2012 and Windows 7
- Microsoft Exchange 2003/ 2010, VERITAS enterprise backup and recovery procedures;
- Domain expertise with MS Operating systems, Active Directory and MS Exchange required. MSCE and CCNA considered as added advantage ; and
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, Windows XP/7, etc.)
