- The
African Financial Market Initiatives (AFMI) of the African Development
Bank (AfDB) will require the Services of a Consultant for the following
assignment: Assistant Data Manager.
- The
services of an Assistant Data Manager are required to assist the AFMI
Support Team (also working closely with the Statistics department) with
the data collection and information gathering as part of the content for
the AFMI Data Portal.
He/She will report to the AFMI Coordinator and will have the following
responsibilities:
i.
Assisting the
Statistic Department (ESTA) on data collection from African government
institutions;
ii.
Perform various
tasks related to the AFMI Data portal, including:
• Collect relevant information on African bond markets from the websites
of Central Banks/ Ministries of Finance/ Debt Management Offices. This may
include quantitative and qualitative information from public and private
institutions, research papers and other related documents;
•
Check data received
from the Liaison Officers and;
• Contribute to the checking for the completeness of the African
Financial Markets Database (AFMD) and the identification of errors in the
existing data.
•
Any other duties as
requested by the Coordinator.
3. The AFMI of the AfDB invites Individual Consultants to submit their
interest in providing the services described above. Interested Individual
Consultants must provide information on their capacity and experience
indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (Resume, description
of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of
appropriate skills, etc.).
4. Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the
selection procedure shall be in accordance with the “Rules and Procedures for
the use of Consultants”, for projects financed under the African Development
Bank window, May 2008 edition, revised in July 2012 which is available on the
Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. The Bank is under no obligation to
shortlist any consultant who expresses interest.
5. The duration of the mission is estimated at 12 months (renewable upon
successful completion of the assigned tasks) and the commencement date is
planned for February 2014.
