Programme Officer: Executive at TGNP Mtandao


TGNP Mtandao has been in existence since 1993, during which time it has built itself into a leading member of the women feminist movement for social gender transformation and women empowerment within Tanzanian, Africa and beyond. Its overall goal is to contribute to increased gender responsiveness of policy formulation and implementation of various policies. The approach of the organization is enhancing strategic linkages, networking and coalition building among like-minded civil society organizations, grassroots groups and key networks and coalitions. Over the years, TGNP has made a substantial contribution towards developing a critical mass of organized civil society with the capacity to critically analyze and stimulate public debate, and to carry out activism and collective action on pertinent social, cultural, political and economic development issues.

To adequately fulfill its objectives and in line with the expansion of its activities in the country, TGNP Mtandao is inviting applications from suitably qualified and self- motivated Tanzanians of high personal integrity to apply for the vacant position existing within the organization:

Programme Officer: Executive Relationship

The Programme Officer: Executive Relationship will provide project management and strategic professional support to the Executive Director for effective execution of strategy. Key responsibilities will include:

1. Maintaining relationship with both internal and external stakeholders
 Managing communications calendar and coordinate meetings, donor meetings and local, regional and international conferences and ensure relevant materials are in place for the events/meetings. Maintain and present the Executive Dash board and other reports on a timely manner
 Coordinate Executive Director’s global and domestic travel itineraries
 Work with the Executive Director to schedule and manage Board and AGM
2. Support Executive Director on Resource Mobilization
 Search the internet for potential funders, inform the executive director on opportunities for funding and , guided by the ED,
 Drafting concept notes to guide full-fledged funding proposal development
 Prepare for and accompany ED in fundraising meetings and maintain records of all projects and processes for the ED.

3. Information Management
 Maintain update database of Executive key contacts
 Take notes and dictation from the ED and produce required documents from such meetings
 Initiate production of reports as required by the ED and submit drafts to the ED

Job specifications.
Qualifications and experience
Minimum of holders Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, training in gender will be an added advantage. Candidates are required to have a working experience of at least two years.

Key Job skill requirements (Competencies)
 Listening, inter-personal and team building
 Ability to prepare reports, proposals, policies and procedures
 Written and spoken communication in English and Swahili
 Public relations and corporate imaging
 Computer literacy in MS word and spreadsheets including excel
