Role overview
The ideal person for this position will work collaboratively with Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) teacher within electrical workshop by providing advice, coaching and where possible support other workshops in electrical related operations. He/she will provide inputs to VETA management and VSO on the best way to improve the workshop up to the standards desired/required by gas industry.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
Professional qualifications and experience:
Essential
University degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Vocational training or QTS certification with particular experience in Electrification, plant maintenance and installation
Have at least three years in maintenance department of a factory or an establishment such as a hospital, public utility company or office building.
Have at least two years experience in the practical vocational training
Experience in management information systems
Desirable:
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Experience of working in a developing country.
Experience in working with poor communities and community institution
Preference is given to those applicants with background on vocational/ complex industry experience

Role overview
This position will be based in Mtwara and will support the project (Mtwara, Lindi with limited travells to Dar).
Ensure all the logistics related to the vehicle are handled, deliver/collect parcels, be proactive in supporting other project staff and will be part of the project team for project deliverable.

An energetic, motivated and active person ready to work under minimum supervision with high level of flexibility. Ability to support other people and be ready to ensure the objectives of the project are met.

Role overview
The Volunteer will work collaboratively with teachers under the motor vehicle mechanics workshop within VETA (Vocational Education and Training Authority) in Mtwara and Lindi to improve the standards of the motor vehicle workshop. She/he will also support other advisors within the project on delivery of project objectives.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
Professional qualifications and experience:
Essential
Degree and/ Diploma in Vocational training or QTS certification with particular experience in motor vehicle mechanics.
Have at least two years experience in vocational training
Experience in repair and maintenance of both light and heavy vehicles with use of diagnostic digital system to detect faults.
Desirable
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Experience of working in a developing country.
Experience in working with poor communities and community institution.
Preference is given to an applicant with background on industrial complex and vocational training experience. Also education background on international qualifications like City and Guilds or any other recognized will highly be considered.

Role overview
The ideal person for this position will be working with VETA Lindi and VETA Mtwara to support the EEVT 2 project in ensuring that VETA manages to prepare graduates who are able to translate entrepreneurship ideas into reality in a more innovative and creative ways. She/he will be based in Lindi and work from VETA Lindi & Mtwara and support teachers, VSO and industry links person closely for this role to ensure students and graduates from VETA are motivated for self-employability and the spirit of entrepreneurship.
Skills, qualifications and experience required
Bachelor’s degree in Business management or social science, Entrepreneurship, Economics or related is required
Background on training, education or facilitation skills will be the most advantageous factor for this position.
The ideal applicant should be someone who lives by examples on entrepreneurship. Ability to combine ideas and reality for supporting VETA graduates i.e. putting entrepreneurship theories into practice for self-employability
Allowance and accommodation
All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home.
VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.
