Under the Banking and Financial institutions (Development Finance) Regulation of 2012, commercial banking activities are to be separated from the core Development Financing undertakings. The TIB Corporate Finance Limited's (CFL) main functions are to carry on corporate banking business across a network of branches, agencies and departments. FOREIGN EXCHANGE DEALER
JOB PURPOSE
The job holder will work as principal officer and will report to the Director of Treasury. He/she will be responsible for driving foreign exchange profitable
trading and taking currency position in line with statutory and internal limits as well as maintaining interbank and corporate client relationship, initiate market surveys, prepare daily strategies and make predictions on currency movement to enable the bank undertakes appropriate hedge strategies and pricing of foreign exchange.
Key Responsibilities
Review and develop an annual business plan for Foreign Exchange Trading unit and contribute to the overall business strategy for
Treasury Department to ensure that plans are developed and implemented in line with clear business objectives and goals that support the overall Bank strategy.
Review, monitor and manage the Banks
Foreign Currencies positions and trading activities to ensure compliance with Internal and External Statutory requirements to achieve FX Trading revenue targets.
Trade within approved Dealers limits in the Interbank for profit or covering positions in accordance with MM trading and Local Counterparty Authorized Credit lines.
Prepare Daily Exchange rate sheet and circulate to Branches before commencement. of business to ensure that all trades are done as per the day's defined .currencies trading strategy.
Monitor FX· price/rate movements in the market and analyse their implications to the Bank's proprietary trading positions to ensure that its in-line with trading strategy.
Continuously maintain market presence through active participation in the market and monitoring of' financial market movement as well as Government fiscal and monetary plans.
Liaise with Regulatory Authorities and other market participants forging and implementing market development initiatives to ensure compliance with regulations and adopt best practice standards.
Review and contribute to the enhancement of the Foreign Exchange policy and procedures in line with changing' business needs ..
Perform daily market survey, analysis and report on competitor's actions and general
market outlook.
Review, develop, monitor and control the budget for the unit to ensure that budgets. are aligned with the. business plan and expenses are controlled within agreed limits.
Coach/Mentor subordinates on deal structuring and trading and develop-and train other business units in Foreign
Exchange Trading to ensure efficient posting, quoting and reporting on FX operations.
Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Qualification, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
Bachelor Degree qualifications in fields of Accounting, Commerce, Economics, or related discipline from a recognized University/Institution .
Holder of ACI Dealing Certificate.
A minimum of 5 years' experience, at least two years' experience in Treasury Foreign
Exchange and Money Market Dealing to a commercial, bank or banking financial institution.
Thoroughly knowledge in Foreign Exchange Trading, in addition pricing of and dealing in
Money Market and Fixed Income Products.
Good understanding of financial markets and its implication in performance of banks.
Adequately acquainted with technical and . fundamental analysis of the foreign exchange market.
Preferred
Good knowledge of market mechanics,
Treasury and Risk management techniques.
Relevant industry 'knowledge.
Strong leadership ability.
Strategic thinker with the ability to predict and plan for future business requirements.
Ability to work under pressure. '
Good knowledge of all relevant regulatory provisions.
Excellent Oral & Written 'communication skills.
Strong negotiation skills.
