GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: A day-to-day vehicle management of the office. This includes to perform minor service and repairs on Heifer Tanzania vehicles and responsible for managing and maintaining a sound procurement vehicle management system in accordance with the Heifer International policy works and services.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
·         Responsible for the vehicle assigned to him as per conditions laid down on the use of Heifer International vehicles.
·         Responsible for making sure that the vehicle is parked at the office premises if not in use and at a safe place else where while on an approved trip.
·         To always have a log book per trip
·         To ensure that fuel and maintenance costs are well recorded
·         Responsible for making timely vehicle service and maintenance
·         Responsible to prepare vehicle repairs and services orders for Senior Logistic Officer’s / Senior Driver approval
·         Advise Senior Logistic Officer/ Senior Driver on all vehicle maintenance and repairs before actual work is carried out
·         Responsible to observe and follow rules and regulations governing the maintenance and operation of motor vehicles as per Heifer International Vehicle Policy
·         Keep sound and adequate vehicle records for monthly vehicle report compilation by Senior Logistic Officer/ Senior Driver.
·         Performs such other related duties as may be assigned by the Senior Logistic Officer/ Senior Driver.
·         Ensure security measures for vehicles such as parking, storage of keys, emergency supplies, etc.
·         Ensure that security incident reports are completed and filed (if related to vehicles).
·         Ensure that accident reports are completed and filed.
·         Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Heifer International and to not jeopardize its mission;

·         Assume all other legitimate duties as are required and as time permits which are connected to the administration of Heifer Tanzania office, which will be assigned from time to time

·         Carry out other duties that may from time to time be assigned to you by the Senior Logistics Officer/HRM in the interest of HIT and Heifer International in general.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
·         Vehicle Management certificate
·         At least five (5) years experience in Driving / Mechanic position
·         Valid drivers’ license and extensive driving experience
·         Work odd or long hours at a time to complete special requests or projects.
·         Serve a number of people at one time, and will be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of staff
·         Able to manage a number of requests and tasks at one time and must be prepared to deal with emergencies and stressful situations at any time
·         Very respectful, self-disciplined, intelligent, responsible and presentable person.
·         Highly organized and detail oriented, ability to accomplish multiple tasks, results oriented and can work well under pressure
·         The incumbent must maintain confidentiality, use sound judgment and perform independently
·         Ability to prioritize issues
·         Team player and able to work in a fast paced environment
·         Able to cope with the demand of duties which might require extra hours of working
·         Managing and executing multiple tasks.
