Global Partner Solutions (GPS) Limited is an International Trade and Development Consultancy. We are seeking a Public Communications Analyst to assist with various projects and provide support for external communications. This position is project based for 3 month with the potential to extend. The Analysts role has a particular emphasis on communications including social media, web updates, email campaigns, and event outreach. You will work closely with the Business Development Consultant and Director of GPS based and will liaise with our team in Nairobi, Kenya. You will have full access to the firm’s training, resources, and experts to help you grow professionally.
Key Responsibilities
As our Public Communications Intern, you will be responsible for developing content to enhance the visibility of the firm through various channels. In this role, understanding the unique nature of the market and the ability to communicate well through writing are essential. You will have several areas of accountability including but not limited to:
• Supporting a variety of communications projects in the areas of client outreach, event planning and social media initiatives
• Conducting research for content to be distributed through media outlets and press pitches
• Writing and revising articles for press releases, blogs, and periodic newsletters
• Developing content to maintain the firm’s social media and web-presence
• Identify key trends in the East African market through research to inform internal team
• Organize and assist with branding of GPS tools and content
• Assist with event logistics ranging from pre-event planning, execution, to post-event support
• Assist with preparation of presentations and marketing materials as needed
• Performing other internal and client-facing duties as assigned
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated passion for working in teams and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Minimum Requirements
• Minimum 1 year experience in a public relations/marketing role
• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
Core Requirements
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English and KiSwahili
• Ability to interact with external parties and stakeholders with confidence and clarity
• Must be able to plan and pay attention to deadlines, adapt to changing requirements, and show desire to take lead
• Creative thinker who is able to think outside the box and make unorthodox connections
• Demonstrates curiosity, a passion to learn and gain solid work experience
• Possesses a positive attitude and demonstrates respect, confidentiality, and honesty when interacting with colleagues and clients
