Amref Health Africa - Tanzania, one of the fast expanding country office programmes is largely supported by Multi, Bilateral and National donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDSITB/STI, Reproductive and Family Health, Water and sanitation, Malaria, Training, clinical outreach and disaster management.
Amref Health Africa is therefore seeking to recruit highly qualified, experienced and motivated individual for the following positions based in Dar es Salaam and Lake Zone Mwanza.
Project Manager (ONE POST - BASED IN BARIADI)
REPORTS TO: PROGRAMME MANAGER JOB OBJECTIVES:-
Direct technical assistant to the programme manager- providing technical support to the programme within AMREF implementation team and its implementing partners in line to national MNCH standards
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: _
• Work with council teams and ground partners in compiling technical information for the programme
• Work with the programme manager in packaging evidences generated alongside the identified project strategic components for the programme
• Guide technical staff in identification and addressing health systems gaps and challenges among women and children that impact into their wellbeing
• Team up and work with SRH technical officer and community mobilization officers to build up a workable and cost-effective model for the MNCH program
• Ensure timely compilation of projects reports from all components and liaise with ME officer and programme analyst to ensure prompt reports submission to the programme manager
• In liaison with programme manager and other technical staff in Amref Health Africa actively participate in programme development, proposal writing consistent with Amref Health Africa ' strategic approaches.
• Lead technical teams in focusing on results and to actively participate in results management in line with agreed results-based framework for the project
• Work with the technical team in conducting identified areas for operational research
• Spearhead documenting lessons learned for the model and for disseminating knowledge and best practices
• Support the programme manager in adhering to operational regulations and the set standards for project management and financial procedures
Promote teamwork and encourage project teams and partners in owning the program and ensure quality provision of MNCH services.
Manage technical staff performance and development
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:-
• Postgraduate degree in public health, medicine, nursing, community development or related
• Experience in project design, planning and management skills including results analysis on project performance
• Experience in sexual reproductive health projects among young people
• Excellent strategic thinking and analytical skills
• Well-versed with central and local government structures including health systems
• Good team player, cultural sensitive with interpersonal and communication skills
• Two or more years of experience in implementing MNCH interventions
