Job Title: Project Facilitator - Agribusiness
Reports to: Agriculture Specialist
Location; Babati Cluster
Purpose of the position:
Under the supervision of Agricultural Specialist and close collaboration with other project facilitators, the incumbent will facilitate establishment of viable rural based agricultural enterprises.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in marketing and business relations efforts to broker and promote agricultural market linkages among value chain actors,
- Attend Business Development networks, including think tank events, international development forums, Market fairs, workshops and seminars to create farmers market opportunities,
- Conduct meetings with potential value Chain actors to broker commercial and business relationship among them.
- Assist in Promotion of peer to peer learning among Agricultural value chain actors for bulk agricultural production and marketing and broker commercial business relationship among actors,
- Facilitate/train farmers on farming as business including cost benefit analysis to project beneficiaries,
- Identify and propose innovative approaches in promoting rural rooted agricultural technologies.
- Support formation and promotion of youth and women rural rooted farming and business enterprises
- Document case studies of market based approaches and agricultural interventions that clearly demonstrate social transformation and sustainable development
- Provide capacity building to rural rooted Agricultural enterprises
- In collaboration with Agricultural Specialists and Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialists Manage knowledge management and sharing relevant market led information to the team and project partners.
- Participate in Project trainings Surveys, Monitoring exercises and project progress reports writing and sharing
- Provide technical assistance for value-chain and enterprise development through working with micro, small and medium enterprises, farmers' organizations and other intermediaries in prioritized value chains;
- Maintain working relationships with LGAs and community level stakeholders as partners, identify and development of new relationships;
- Participate in meetings and training sessions organized at community level by the project stakeholders;
- Assist commercial producers and Commercial villages project leaders and relevant committees in preparing/reviewing technical reports and monthly/quarterly
- Develop progress reports share and submit to Project Specialists and DME specialists
- Monitor, and report on community projects approved for implementation with respective value chains
- Conduct targeted value-chain and business environment analyses
- Assist communities in preparing community economic development strategic plans for each selected value chains
- Assist in integrating community economic development action plans with production and National initiatives, projects for selected interventions
- In collaboration with the DM&E Specialists, develop and administer pre- and post- knowledge questionnaires to measure impact of knowledge sharing, and other materials related to project training and advocacy.
- Work closely with the Specialist to ensure project activities are in line with World Vision agriculture/livelihood policies, criteria and procedures.
- Participate in project trainings, surveys, monitoring exercises, and donor, country and head office visits, as required.
- Compile clear and accurate reports on project trainings and other activities, as required.
- Participate in project planning and review meetings, as required.
- Assist the DME Specialist in preparing weekly internal progress reports and quarterly/annual donor reports.
- Extract lesson learning from project implementation, and compile and share case studies with the organization and other project stakeholders as required.
- Provide regular and timely communication to Agricultural Specialist and field colleagues on progress during project implementation, highlighting successes; delays; risks; challenges; irregularities and opportunities encountered during your work.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Specialist or the Chief of Party

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness , Agricultural economics, Business Administration and marketing, international Business or Business development or equivalent
- Working experience in related field
- Experience baseline data collection using GIS tools
- Experience in farm equipment and mechanization
- Background in cereals, pulses or horticultural promotion projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills, proven networking, team-building, organizational and communication skills
- Computer literacy is essential
