Fitter Mechanics

Geita Gold Mine (GGM) is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of North Western Tanzania. It is located within Geita Region, about 85 kms from Mwanza City and 20 kms South East of the nearest point of Lake Victoria and 5 Kms west of Geita town. The Mine is owned and managed by Anglo Gold Ashanti Limited.
Applications are invited from ambitious, energetic and performance driven individuals to fill the following vacant positions:

ROLE TITLE: Fitter Mechanics
WORKS FOR: WORKSHOP & OUTSIDE STATION SUPERINTENDENT
QUALIFICATION:
Full Technician Certificate /Ordinary National Diploma in Mech. Engineering/Trade Test Grade I in Fitter Mechanics/Fitting and Turning/Machinist.
EXPERIENCE:
At least 2 years working experience as a Fitter Mechanic/ Machinist.
ROLE /FUNCTION:
To provide day to day mechanical maintenance services to the Process Plant Machinery and related infrastructure.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Install, repair and maintain plant equipments in safe and reliable condition.
• Carry out routine inspection of machinery, equipments and related infrastructure.
• Attend to all mechanical planned and breakdown problems.
• Inspect and listen to machines and equipment to locate cause of malfunctions.
• Service various equipment and machine elements of the process mill machinery.
• Fabricate/machine from stock spare parts as required for replacement.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Be able to carry tasks with minimum supervision.
• Be able to understand instructions both in Swahili and English languages.
• Be physically fit.
