Supply Chain Specialist (1 Position)-Mwanza

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Christian Social Services Commission (CSSC) is an ecumenical body established in 1992 by Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) and Christian Council of Tanzania (CCT) to facilitate the provision of social services in Tanzania. CSSC supports Church institutions to deliver quality social services to all the people regardless of colour, race and faith; and also promotes expansion of health, education and other social services all over Tanzania.
CSSC is an implementing Partner in provision of HIV Care and Treatment and PMTCT services in Mwanza and Geita Regions as well as Rorya District-Mara with funding support from the United States President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Applications are sought from highly qualified, well experienced and motivated persons for the following positions to join Christian Social Services Commission under the ART Program. The work station for all the positions will be based in MWANZA Region, except for the KIM Specialist position that will be based in Dar-es-salaam.

3. Position Title: Supply Chain Specialist (1 Position)-Mwanza

Purpose of the Position: Reporting to Supply Chain Team Lead, The Supply chain specialist is responsible for ensuring the availability of HIV/AIDS commodities at the supported PMTCT and Care and Treatment sites by constantly liaising with the facilities/ \District pharmacists and sharing information of the availability of these commodities at MSD HQ and MSD Mwanza Zone so that proper interventions can be made.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinating CSSC supply chain activities and work closely with other implementing partners in Mwanza, Geita and Mara to ensure reliable supply of HIV/AIDS related commodities to the supported facilities/Districts.
Technically represent CSSC on supply chain issues at the Regional/District level, and meetings with other implementing partners in these Regions.
Work closely with respective RHMTs, CHMTs and other implementing partners to strengthen supply chain systems of HIV/AIDS commodities in the supported facilities/Districts. Participate in SCM implementing partners meetings and national drug management working groups
Taking the leading role in ensuring that facilities are assisted in using the National pharmacy data base to be able to produce electronic pharmacy reports and request as required by NACP Actively ensuring that the District pharmacists are responsible for overseeing good quality pharmaceutical services are provided in their responsible Districts through Onsite mentorship and technical assistance
Monitoring the implementation of pharmacovigilence activities and rational use of medicines in the CSSC supported sites and share the information with Supply Chain Team Lead to collaborate with TFDA HQ as well as SCMS to improve pharmacovigilence and Rational Use of Medicines in CSSC supported sites respectively.
Monitoring the functions of Medicines Therapeutic Committees in the supported Districts and liaising with District pharmacists to support the MTCs.
Strengthening supply chain and commodities management system of all supported facilities/Districts.
Maintaining close working relationship with MSD and zonal supply chain advisors through periodic documented meetings, and through sharing of facility SCM challenges
Ensure the rational use of medicines and pharmacovigilence implementation in CSSC supported sites
Assist the Supply chain Team Lead in organizing experience sharing meeting With trainings with regard to supply chain activities for the facility staff.

Qualifications and experience:
Pharmacist with degree in pharmacy (Bpharm)
At least 3 years experience in HIV/AIDS commodities supply chain management.
In-depth understanding/knowledge of national HIV/AIDS supply chain systems and pharmaceutical management
Excellent written and oral communication
Management of data base in access or other relevant software Good knowledge in computer software applications such as MS Word, Excel, and the Internet.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Ability to plan, develop and work independently. Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to travel to the health facilities in the supported districts to provide onsite mentorship and technical assistance in issues pertaining to supply chain management
In-depth understanding/knowledge of national HIV/AIDS supply chain systems and pharmaceutical management
