Private Agricultural Sector Support (PASS) Trust is inviting all interested and qualified individuals to apply for the below positions. The applicants must be of outstanding integrity, creativity, with a good track record of initiating change and capable of interacting with diverse groups of people.
PASS' vision is "to be a leading business organization in the provision of financial and business development services in the agricultural sector". It wishes to deploy a top management team that would implement strategies to enable the firm's institutional operations to function as an advanced Trust, with a view of ensuring that there is good governance and attain significant growth of business, utilization of the guarantee fund and sustainability.
Position Summary
Being the Managing Director, one will be The Chief Executive of PASS responsible for the delivery of good management of the business,
human resources, finances and other assets of the Trust and to oversee the development, communication and implementation of the organization's strategy,
Key Responsibilities will include:
1. Reporting to and advising the Board of Trustees on various issues pertaining to the Trust;
2. Networking with external partners including the Government of Tanzania, development partners and other stakeholders;
3. Ensuring timely preparation and submission of quality reports to all stakeholders;
4. To act as chief spokesperson of the Trust;
S, Creating awareness, marketing and building a strong corporate image to maximize the Trust's value;
6. Providing leadership in formulating, implementing and monitoring strategies to facilitate creation and wide accessibility to economically viable products, to ensure sustainability of the Trust;
7. Managing overall finances of the Trust (including the CGF), mitigating financial risks and utilization of the company's assets to ensure a sustainable organization development in line with the Trust's mission;
8. Ensuring management of the Trust's finances as per the law and the Boards instructions which are in line with the Trust's vision and mission;
9. Ensuring that human resource capacity and appropriate management structures and policies are developed within the organization for sustainable growth; and
10. Performing any other assignments as may be assigned by the Board of Trustees within the scope of PASS Trust Business.
Key Qualifications and Experience
1. A professional agricultural development specialist with extensive field experience in African agriculture and agribusiness development, financial, management and related field
2. A good academic background with a minimum of a Master's Degree in Agronomy, Agribusiness, Finance, or related discipline, backed up by
extensive experience in business planning, project analysis, evaluation and monitoring
3. A minimum 10 years of which 5 should be at senior managerial position.
4. Experience in facilitating lending to smallholders including experience in negotiating with Banks.
5. Experience is commercial banking is an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies
1. Excellent., managerial and interpersonal-skills and ability to motivate and inspire a pool of professional staff
2. Have good presentation skills and familiar with Microsoft office applications,
3. Have extensive experience in credit guarantee schemes and other financial or non-financial business development services required to accelerate
investments in small and medium scale farming and agro enterprises.
4, Knowledge in agriculture financing.
