The EQUIP-Tanzania Managing Agent seeks an experienced Information and Communication Officer who will manage and disseminate information and deliver communications and campaigns to engage stakeholders at all levels in improving learning outcomes for Tanzania’s children, especially girls and those who are educationally disadvantaged

Job Description
Manage the information and knowledge produced across the Programme, ensuring it is organised, stored and accessible to Programme staff, and identifying and creating case studies that communicate learning from Programme activities Work with managers and technical advisers in EQUIP-Tanzania to understand their communication requirements in achieving Programme outputs, proposing, agreeing and supporting creative ideas to deliver these Liaise with counterparts in PMO-RALG and MOEVT, and other EQUIP-Tanzania partners such as Civil Society Organisations, to ensure communications activities are coordinated, using their resources where appropriate in order to maximise the impact of the Programme Oversee EQUIP-Tanzania’s visual identity ensuring that presentations and publications adhere to consistent, high quality standards
Maintain EQUIP-Tanzania’s website, ensuring it is always up to date, drafting and uploading information and resources that creatively and succinctly communicate Programme priorities and outputs Manage media relations for EQUIP-Tanzania to generate public support for reform, building their understanding of the Programme and its objectives, identifying opportunities, drafting news releases, and engaging them in campaigns and initiatives Draft, design and print documents and publications, working with external suppliers where necessary, to maximise the impact of EQUIP-Tanzania’s objectives for external stakeholders Manage and deliver EQUIP-Tanzania’s campaigns, developing messages and materials, commissioning media, and working with a range of stakeholders to devise tactics to engage, motivate and achieve behaviour change Build capacity for effective information and communication, supporting training and producing guidance for those working with stakeholders Create and maintain an activity plan and budget listing all information and communication outputs, and produce quarterly updates on outcomes achieved
Candidate Specification
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills and experience: Educated to degree level.
A relevant qualification in marketing, social communication or public relations is highly desirable Experience in a programme environment.
It is important that the successful candidate can demonstrate experience of working in or with sector development programmes Knowledge and/or experience of government.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding of how government works at central, regional or district level; its structures and processes Publications and campaigns.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate creativity and a thorough knowledge in creating, commissioning and producing designed materials, websites, radio and film, and developing compelling campaigns for stakeholders and/or the public Organisation.
The successful candidate will be able to show that she/he can organise and manage their own work, including a high degree of proficiency in computer skills, planning and reporting skills Written.
It is essential that the successful candidate has excellent written skills, including the ability to create compelling copy from technical information, draft news releases, content for leaflets and news letters Interpersonal.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills; able to work well with others, to contribute to and present at meetings and play a constructive role in the success of the Programme.
