The Small Things (www.thesmallthings.org)
is a US registered non-profit working in Nkoaranga, a small village
near Arusha in Tanzania. We support a local orphanage and are currently
expanding to build a Children's Village and other community outreach
programmes. We are seeking an experienced fundraising intern to support
this work.
We are looking for a minimum 6 month commitment, followed by the possibility of permanent, paid employment for the right candidate.

Duties:
- Research funding organizations relevant to our work
- Draft applications to trusts, foundations and grant making bodies
- Create fundraising strategies for special projects targeting relevant community and corporate funding.
- Respond to grant enquiries, update records and follow up as required
- Research potential coporate, private and philanthropic donors for special projects such as the Children's Village or our maternal and infant health outreach programmes.
- Help create social media campaigns.
- General administration and office support as required.
- Fluent English. Swahili would be helpful but not required
- Educated at least to undergraduate degree level
- Experience working/volunteering in the non-profit sector
- Experience in any of the duties described above, paid or voluntary.
- Self motivated and able to manage own workload.
