Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position in Brewing Department at Arusha Plant. Job Title: Team Leader;- Job Grade “J”, Reports to: Brewing Manager;-
Qualification:
Education and Experience:
Education:
o Min- Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology or equivalent.
o Ideal-BSc in Food Science and Technology with IBD Diploma.
Experience:
o 1-2 years as a process artisan/operator on a similar Brewing plant or Brewing Technical Trainee who has completed his traineeship.
Ideal Profile:
o Tertiary education in applied sciences;
o Diploma in Brewing (IBD);
o Two years experience in Brewing or related field at line management ;
o Understanding of process control within a brewing/process environment;
o Assertive and analytical
o Proven leadership ability
o God understanding of the principles and practices of Manufacturing Excellence.
o Good understanding of Asset Care principles and good practice (Including CMMS).
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To lead an operational shift team to meet production performance targets.
KEY FOCUS AREAS.
Optimize production performance and processes.
o Monitor production processes from brew-house, ferment, utilities up to filtration.
o Manage the team to improve process quality and productivity
o Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment
o Coordinate and perform scheduled maintenance e.g
running work orders, inspection etc
o Build and foster relationships with preferred suppliers.
Optimize team performance.
o Facilitate effective team dynamics(use of multi skilled operators).
o Implement performance management e.g
KPI tracking, 1-on-1’s, team goals review and feedback.
o Communicate effectively in the workplace through shift team meetings.
Perform administration.
o Ensure application of administration systems and procedures.
o Administer conditions of employment for team members;
o Complete shift documentation
o Control Material Usages.
Problem solving;
o Identification of out of control situations from process monitoring;
o Work with Technical Brewer to resolve the problems using Focused Improvement, 5xWhy, DMAIC and FFA techniques
Manage Human Resources
o Develop Process operators, Operators and artisans.
o Manage and apply personnel processes.
o Ensure a healthy employee relations climate.
o Implement performance management.
o Communicate effectively in the workplace.
Maintain safe, healthy and risk free working environment:
o Comply with safety, health and environment legislation and procedures;
o Maintain safety and housekeeping standards.
Lead the application of the Manufacturing Way principles and practices in own area;
o Lead production and activities in accordance with the manufacturing way work practices framework;
o Lead the application of team work practices for a team.
