Position: National Private Foresty Manager for the Private Forestry Programme.

The Private Forestry Programme is implemented bt a Consortium formed by Indufor Oy and Nirs Finland. The programme will start its operations in January 2014 and is looking for a competent National Private Foresty Manager to complement the technical assistance team.
Qualification:
Qualifications and capacities;
• A minimum of MSc or equivalent in Economics, Business, Forestry or Rural development.
• Working experience in management positions, including project management.
• Experience in private forestry and/or rural development, public-private partnerships, policy issues and institutional development relevant to private forestry development.
• Understanding and knowledge of Human Rights Based appropriates (HRBA), Gender equality, reduction of inequalities and climate sustainability.
• Minimum 10 years working experience.
• Command of professional written and spoken English and Kiswahili
The main responsibilities and tasks are:
• Support the programme Director in programme management and implementation (planning, budgeting, procurement and dismbursement, reporting, team management; the detailed duties between the two will be defined during the inception phase).
• Facilitate and coordinate the networking with national and regional/district stakeholders and present the programme in various for a.
• Overview, supervise and facilitate implementation of project components and activities designated to the NPFA (to be defined during the inception phase).
• Provide expertise upon forestry sector development in Tanzania to the programme team.
• Coordinate and cooperate with key stakeholders, liase with the Embassy of Finland as well as Tanzania Forest service and MNRT, Facilitate the work of the Steering Committee
• Support the programmes training and capacity building activities
This position will require specific personal qualities that enable interaction and advocacy at various levels in a multi-stakeholder situation
The National Private Forestry Manager will work in close collaboration with the Programme Director and with the support of the technical assistance team o excellent team working and team building skills are an absolute necessity
The position requires a person who is capable to work independently and liase and collaborates constructively.

How to apply:
Duty station: Iringa , Mufindi or Njombe district (to be confirmed). The position includes plenty of overnight travel in basic village accommodation.
Duration: Initially 2 years (21 working months), to be extended to 4 years with proven performance.
