Cardno Emerging Markets (UK) Ltd are currently preparing a PQQ for the
DFID-funded Private Enterprise Programme Ethiopia (PEPE) which aims to
support private sector development, through (1) improving firms’ access
to finance (the “access to finance” pillar) and (2) addressing market
and government failures in identified priority sectors (the “priority
sectors” pillar).
The provisional start date of the programme is 31 of December 2012 and project duration is 7 years.
Key Responsibilities
Cardno Emerging Markets (UK) Ltd are looking for an experienced Team Leader with the following background and experience:
- Masters Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics or other relevant
- At least 10 years of project management experience working in Team Leader role
- At least 7 years of experience working with country governments and at different tiers of administration (federal / regional / local) in developing countries, and influencing them effectively
- Proven experience in the design and implementation of M4P, value chain and market development projects and programmes
- In-depth knowledge of market systems
- In-depth knowledge of private sector issues in African context
- Excellent networking and relationship management
- Excellent report writing skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Excellent intercultural communication skills
- Experience working in multi-cultural environment and managing teams from different cultural backgrounds
- Local knowledge: understanding of the Ethiopian economy / political economy, particularly pertaining to the relevant sectors
